AWF Network Partner ARCH is using biophilic and trauma-informed principles to redesign the headquarters of the Zahra Foundation, a South Australian not-for-profit organisation supporting women impacted by domestic abuse.

Fitout colours are inspired by the South Australian coastline.  Teals and deep blue hues in staff areas lower heart rates and pressure in high stress situations.  Warm sandy neutrals provide a psychologically safe and relaxing ‘non-corporate’ environment for clients.

Proposed layout changes will make the space safer, more efficient and more comfortable.  Acoustic upgrades will increase privacy and security.

The Zahra Foundation provide education and empowerment programs, financial counselling and grants to support participants to build a life that is free from poverty and abuse.
