OzQuest / AWF Expedition - Nepal, 2009/10

For the fourth consecutive year, OzQuest and Architects Without Frontiers offer Architects, Architecture students and all related construction & design professionals and students an opportunity to travel to Nepal, experience world heritage Nepali architecture, interact with and contribute to the local community through community development projects.

Dates: December 28, 2009 – January 24, 2010 (4 Weeks)

  • Design workshops and Lecture series on developing world architecture, prior to departure
  • Four - five day trek in the Annapurna Mountains
  • Temple tours around World heritage sites of Kathmandu & Bhaktapur

Working alongside local tradesmen and organisations to facilitate:

  • Design & Construction of a kindergarten facility for a village
  • Meeting with local council authorities to discuss sustainability in Nepal
  • Meeting with Nepalese Architecture Students

This is an Australian Institute of Architects registered activity. Participation in the Architects Without Frontiers Nepal Program will accrue 10 formal and 10 informal CPD points towards the requirements of the Institute's CPD policy in the area of Design and Project Management.
