COTTON ON FOUNDATION PROJECTS UPDATE
AWF worked with the Cotton On Foundation from 2011-2014 to advise on how to improve the design and construction of health and education projects they were building in Mannya in rural Uganda.
We developed an EOI process to involve Australian architects on some of these projects, which led to Ross Langdon (a Tasmanian architect with experience in East Africa) getting involved in a project for a public health/HIV centre, and then after his tragic death we worked with Felix Holland, a Ugandan based architect.
Multipurpose Hall - St Bernard's Secondary School
St Bernard’s Secondary School’s new Multipurpose Hall is a combined assembly and dining hall providing room for 650 students. On a footprint of 680m² it accommodates a covered external auditorium including a simple stage and a school kitchen with associated servery, dish collection, stores and manager’s office.
